Conquering Bicolandia And Caramoan!!!!

Caramoan With The Survivors

I just got back from my trip to caramoan last week.and all i can say is that...it was a bittersweet experience for me..bitter in terms of the travel time...sweet because of the beauty of the place we visited. Our adventure was mostly sweet. We got to experience the paradise of Caramoan and the majestic Mayon Volcano. All in all, our trip from Pasay to Caramoan turned out to be a whopping 14 hours because of some unexpected occurence.Upon arriving at sabang port we took a boat that will bring us to caramoan. I think we left at exactly 8am.After 30 minutes on water, the boat seems to be having some "Low Bat" moments and there we were...in the middle of the sea with gigantic waves..stranded!
One Of The Caramoan Island(I forgot the name)
We arrived in Guijalo port in caramoan at 11am with anger and discontent. The trip by water was gruelling!we were running out of time.We just found out that the port only operates in the morning.7-11am to be exact so it means that we have to explore the place for half a day.

If you are a traveler and have been to different places like palawan, the "WOW" factor for caramoan will probably be lesser.Although some sites were undeniably breathtaking..we only got to explore few islands because some were off limits due to the filming of the Survivor Israel. The beaches were great. The second beach that we explore was the one that stucked into our minds. It was a beautiful mini beach. It was very quiet and very pristine. We were alone on that beach for about 30 minutes. It was like having your personal paradise for 30 minutes.

After 5 hours,it's time to go home. After taking a shower we decided to have our dinner in this carinderia type resto. This resto turns out to be the only restaurant in the place.I'm expecting local and unique varieties of cuisine...unfortunately they served the usuals of carinderia. The only unusual food there is the blue marlin, so that's the one i chose for my dinner.
Caramoan Cathedral
Caramoan is a beatiful place if i may say so myself, but it needs improvement. The word "overrated" keeps poppin through my head.Due to lack of time, stress in travel, budget ,the weather and not to mention the survivor filming , we only explored a quarter of caramoan.I do believe it has so much more to offer. They have to improve the place to gain much more attention and tourist.
The Great Cagsawa Bell Tower

To tell you the truth i was not contented with my caramoan trip. There's something missing in this travel puzzle that needs to be completed before we run out of time. That missing piece, turned out to be the great Mayon Volcano.
The Mayon In Hiding

The Halo Halo (Bicol Style)
It was a cloudy afternoon when we arrived at Legazpi. The Mayon Volcano seems to be hiding from us. I was unhappy about it.The missing piece of the puzzle was hiding it self from us. With every bit of faith we continue to explore the mayon through the Cagsawa ruins park.
Thinking Of Not Leaving!! :-)

The Great Mayon
When we arrived, the mayon is still in hiding. After a few prayers, raindrops, fishballs, kikiams and halo halo, there it was after The Mayon Volcano it all it's glory. I considered this as a personal miracle. The mayon was 90 percent covered with clouds when we arrived. I kept asking the locals if there is a slight chance that the mayon will reveal itself to us but they kept saying that it is impossible because there is a little bit air pushing the clouds. After hearing that, i close my eyes and pray. After my prayer, seriously the clouds were slowly moving away from the mountains. After 3 hours, There It was the mayon volcano in all of its greatness!!!

The Beautiful Embarcadero Mall

After the cagsawa trip, we left for legaspi.Legaspi was a beautiful modern place. The embarcadero mall at the port was intelligently  built! It was truly the cherry on top!Without the Legaspi sidetrip, This could have been a disaster.Fortunately, to sum it all up..it was genuinely a nice travel!Well worth it!And as a gauge whether the place is a worthy travel destination or not.....Will i still comeback in this place...the answer..a definite YES!!!There is still a lot of places that needs to be conquered and discovered in Bicol. With time and money, conquering bicolandia would be "Oh- So easy"!!
